Driving children and vulnerable passengers is a privilege with rules. Licensed and checked drivers, safeguarding briefings, consistent assignments and a clear reporting line — written down here so schools and parents can hold us to it.
Last reviewed June 2026. Questions are always welcome at the dispatch desk.
Drivers on school, SEND and vulnerable-passenger work are licensed private hire drivers holding the enhanced checks that licensing requires, and receive our safeguarding briefing covering boundaries, communication and what to do when something feels wrong.
We assign consistent, named drivers to regular runs — familiarity is itself a safeguard — with briefed cover for absence.
Drivers follow agreed handover arrangements with parents, carers or school staff and never leave a young or vulnerable passenger without the agreed adult present. Communication stays through the office and the agreed adults. Seating, belts and any specific needs are agreed at setup and followed every run.
Every concern — from a passenger, parent, school or driver — goes to office leadership immediately and is acted on, recorded, and escalated to the local authority or police where appropriate. We cooperate fully with school and local authority safeguarding procedures and never treat a report as an inconvenience.
We are happy to evidence licensing, checks and briefings, name assigned drivers, follow your safeguarding protocols and sign your agreements. Contracted school and SEND work comes with the paper trail your governors expect.
All of it written the same way — to be understood.
